Thule EuroClassic 913 rack for sale

We have come by this high quality 2-bike towball-mounted rack, but have no use for it as we already have a Thule 3-bike rack. Feel free to take advantage of the situation. Pictures and full description on the link below.

eBay Bikes for 99p!

We have a couple of interesting bikes on eBay at the moment.

They are the sort of bikes we would normally restore and sell on the XbikeX website, but we simply need the extra workshop space, as we have a steady stream of bikes in for servicing at the moment.

One of the bikes up for auction is a rather nice classic Claud Butler X-CT Timber Trail, which just needs some minor TLC. The other is a fairly decent-looking Saracen Mantra freeride/XC/jump-style bike, which just needs the drivetrain completing. This looks really quite menacing in all matt-black! Grab a real bargain, with both bikes starting at 99p and with no reserve.

Why no bikes?!?

Where are all the bikes for sale?

Well, we don't actually have ANY for sale right at the moment. Everything we restore/repair/refurbish tends to go very quickly - basically because they are all properly prepared and good value when compared to new.

There are also times when family life and other issues get in the way of workshop life. When that happens, stocks of completed bikes dwindle very quickly.

Suffice to say that this has been the case with XbikeX of late, and having the company transport written-off by an inattentive pillock superficially in control of an X5 hasn't helped one little bit. We were also unlucky enough to have a large investment in professional workstands and jigs 'lost in transit' for which the insurance has only recently paid out. Those items have now been re-purchased and installed (and as a consequence, we have for sale a lightly used Sealey Tools BS1 workstand.)

We will be back in full flow in around 10 days.

Apologies - and thanks for your understanding!

Stinky makes a Quantum Leap

Project Stinky, our fully documented reinvention of a classic 2004 Kona Stinky freeride/downhill bike has made a significant logical progression, with the arrival of a completely different bike. To make any sense of that statement, you could do worse than to catch up here: Stinky on a Mission

Project Stinky

After taking a few well-earned days off at the beginning of June (and getting a few other non-bike projects signed-off) I'll be commencing 'Project (Kona) Stinky'.

This slightly off-the-wall custom build will be fully documented, with plenty of photos, in a blog style on the XbikeX website. All the best bits, and all the train-wrecks.

Why? Well, it's just a bit different, that's all.

In a nutshell, the idea is to have some fun building a decent full-suspension downhill/freestyle bike, and trying to do it on the cheap. The success or otherwise of the project won't be judged (at least by me) on any financial critera though, because you just know that once you get into a project like this, heart overtakes head and it ends up costing more than you could have bought a complete semi-stock bike second hand.

Having said that, I'm hoping to do it for around £600 (LOL, remind me of this figure at the end of the build...) once all the dust has settled and all the left over bits have been sold on. Oh yes... there WILL be plenty of left-over bits.

What's different about this build? The idea is to source a decent Stinky frame, re-bush it as required and then buy either a semi-complete basket case of parts, or a sick non-Kona-donor bike and build something out of these plus the best bits lying around the workshop.

One thing you can be sure of, is that it will be cool. Other things you can be sure of, is that it will be orange, and that ultimately, it will be for sale on XbikeX.
